OUR STORY
After studying ceramics in college, Jim Kingwell began blowing glass in 1971. He founded Icefire Glassworks in 1975, representing his own work. He moved to Cannon Beach, Oregon in 1991, and set up shop at the place where Bill and Sally Worcester used to make their glass.
Since then, Icefire Glassworks has grown to represent several artists, each of whom has an abiding love for the Pacific Northwest and a connection to Cannon Beach specifically. Today, the gallery features the work of Jim, Suzanne Kindland, Michelle Kaptur, Mark Gordon, Kathleen Sheard, Jeff and Heather Thompson, Teresa Kowalski, Robert Tamis, Laura Bowker, John Santellano, Anthony Parker, and David Haberer.
Our focus is on glass art that showcases each of these artists' talents and dedication to skill. While we typically offer one-of-a-kind pieces, there is limited custom work available.
We are following CDC and State of Oregon recommendations for the safety of our clients and our staff. Face coverings are welcome, but are not required. Our Spring/Summer schedule is from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, seven days per week.
We are happy to work with our clients and send photos of pieces that meet your color preferences and price range requirements. Contact us at 503-436-2359, or icefire@theoregonshore.com.
